Hi All,
So last night we had the first of this years internal club competitions and it was great to see such a big entry and especially good to see such a good turnout of members which helps to make these nights such a success!
The quality of images across the board was fantastic so well done to all who took part and especially well done to some of our newest members who came out on top after their first time in one of our competitions! Keep up the good work and maybe we will see some of the intermediate members make the jump to advanced for next season!
Judging was very fair and both Keith Wilkinson and Shay Farrelly from Malahide Camera Club, both done a fine job of a difficult task with such varied images and such quality of images as we had last night.
A full round up of results will follow in a separate email for those who wish to keep a track of the scores on the doors so far!!
A little reminder also that the next competition is on the 3rd December and although this seems like a while off yet, remember that the Colour section is themed “Triangle” so this may require the thinking caps to be put on!! Both the mono and the projected image sections remain Open with no theme.
Next week we have a Digital Critique night and for those unfamiliar with this, what we would like people to do is to bring along an image on a disk or usb stick that they have edited in some way and offer it up for advice on how it was processed and how it may be improved. You may even want to also bring along the original RAW image from before any changes were made so that other members can advise from the original , how it may be improved and show us all how on one of the laptops and the projector screen. Don’t be afraid to bring an image along , we may not get through them all but will do our best and remember, you are not being judged on your image, its purely for advice to help you along and improve your images.
